R4 Support
We are committed to providing assistance and guidance in our R4 Schools’ efforts to become an R4 school. Incorporating these life lessons and life skills into the individual classrooms is easy and comes natural to most teachers. The major advantage of this initiative is simply having an organized and mandatory way to keep focus on providing the virtues in an organized fashion. We provide every teacher with our R4 support Document that includes lesson examples to support each of the four pillars of the R4. It includes links and clear discussions on the value of each.
In order to be synchronized and supportive of the R4 initiative, your school must begin by allowing our team to introduce how our concept should be adopted from a philosophical perspective. There are no requirements, and most teachers are currently teaching many of its principals. As an R4 school, it is important that all faculty understand the value of putting additional focus on its tenets. We are supplying many ideas, lessons and innovative tools contributed by other educators. However, we believe that every teacher has a great grasp on these virtues and will have their own way of instilling these profoundly important virtues in their students. All teachers for every subject must have some identifiable and tangible plan for implementing these concepts. We do not believe in forcing teachers to take time to provide anything that would compromise their already very busy schedule. We don’t feel it is necessary for them to provide exact details, only a promise to conform and acknowledgment of an understanding of the cause.
It is important that we do not cause more work and responsibilities. Leadership, citizenship and integrity are not necessarily subject matter requiring lesson plans. They are principals that govern our students’ actions throughout every aspect of their lives. From sports and social interactions, to charitable contributions and family life, these virtues must be an underlying theme brought to the forefront and reinforced at every opportunity. This is not a situation requiring curriculum changes and classes. These are simply virtues that will be drip-fed daily, and reinforced constantly and rewarded when demonstrated.
In order to achieve the transformational elements required to be an R4 school, we will speak collectively to faculty, and individually when requested. We will make ourselves available to help and support every individual educator until we are no longer needed. This commitment now has a name. It is the R4. We now have an obligation to its tenants and this alone should be enough to make certain it is reinforced as often as possible giving our students the best possible sense of right and wrong, a great work ethic, and to be certain that upon graduation, they are truly READY FOR LIFE!
The primary benefit to the school is parents have a tangible very real program with a name that assures them that your school will give this amazing gift of preparedness and integrity to their child. No other school in your market will offer that. This gives your school an enormous competitive position. Although most teachers in most schools try very hard to impart some of the tenets of the R4, the problem is there is no organization or official policies and School-wide movement.
Our commitment to providing the best possible support will be ongoing, and lessons learned from every creative teacher, plan or school activity gleaned from all future R4 schools will be adopted and communicated with current schools. The creative ideas and growth and improvement will be a top priority for the initiative and promises to benefit every R4 school.
